Cellular Shades are the window covering of choice when tight stacking for an unobstructed view is a consideration. Cellular Shades are typically made out of a polyester material and are constructed like an accordian so that the product stacks up tightly on itself. Cellular Shades, also known as Honeycomb Shades, are considered a contemporary looking product; but they are also ambiguous enough to fit in with most other decors. |
Light Filtering to Room Darkening
Cellular Shades are available in sheer, light filtering and room darkening material and work well in large windows where optimum view is important because the product stacks so tightly into itself. The blackout characteristics make it an excellent selection where complete room darkening is desirable.
Energy and Environmental
When controlling Solar Heat Gain and Thermal Control (cold and hot windows) Cellular Shades provide the best properties available in an operable window treatment; the best “R” values and Solar Heat Gain Coefficients for controlling heat gain and loss through windows are applied through Cellular Shades. Cellular Shades are also inert, or chemically inactive, so they do not off-gas or do anything within the building that could be considered environmentally unhealthy.
Operation
Cellular Shades can be operated with standard pull cord, top down bottom up, continuous cord clutch and motorization. Motorized shades can be operated with hand-held or wall-mount remote controls or integrated into a home automation system.
